Important Notice: The Web Export might not work on mac and have other problems due to Godot 4.0 being relatively new. Mac users are requested to use the Mac version of the game. (A big derp by me and Godot)

Pongenocide, a pong-like bullet hell game made for the bullet hell jam 2023.

In this game, you are Bob. You have the magical pong paddle with you that rotates around you. The enemies, Gregs, are shooting pong balls because of a feud you had last Sunday. You have to dodge those pong balls and survive till the round ends!

When your paddle touches a ball, your score increases. Your score unlocks various powerups like increased movement speed, increased rotation and many more. It also unlocks debuffs for you in the form of powerups for your enemies. Increased speed of spawning balls being one of them.

Controls:

WASD or Arrows for movement.

R on the ending for getting back to the menu.

Well, that's it.

Credits:

The Smooth-ass movement is from DevWorm's Tutorial.

Some tilesets were used in development as placeholder and are present in the source files, although not appearing in game. They were from Game Endeavor's tileset,

The funky ass music is from Pixabay. It's A Hero of the 80s | Royalty-free Music - Pixabay.

The Game's Colour Palette is from Lospec. The palette.

The font is Free Pixel Font - Thaleah by Tiny Worlds (itch.io) .

The game is made in Godot 4.02. All the Art is made by me in piskel and the soundwork (other than the music i.e. the sfx) are also done by me in Audacity and Bosca Ceoil.

And obviously, the game is based on Pong.

Btw, there is a little teaser to a sequel of a game I made before. Try to find it out!

so I’ve played the first level. I’m not sure what to do at all, but I did discover a bug that allows you to get negative health (no game over).

Lol what! Didn't know that :P Also, I don't think the game is that fun.. The main gameplay is dodging the balls and maybe reflecting them for a time period lol...

haven’t played it yet, but looking at the screenshots the graphics look really nice. certainly better than what I could make. keep up the work :)

Thanks :D! My game is honestly very bad but the graphics only put up. Btw, don't believe that you can't do that! You can! And my art is not that good tbh.

yes, recently I’ve actually rewritten the codebase and removed the output box. all for improving the project. I’m thinking I should actually touch the web version too.

ehhh…this whole convo is getting a little off-topic (we went from talking about your project to mine…) why don’t we continue on my project’s page so as to not clutter this one?

Okk
